Another major cause of coughs and sore throats is colds and flu. The common cold, including chest cold and head cold, and seasonal flu are caused by viruses.
Pain
Pain is a general term describing uncomfortable sensations in the body that stem from activation of the nervous system. Those sensations may range from being an annoyance to being debilitating and the span can range from consistent, to sporadic or even occasional. Pain may be localized (affecting a specific part of your body) or it may be generalized (such as the overall body aches associated with the flu).
Cough
Coughing is a standard way of clearing your throat. When your airways become clogged with mucus or foreign particles such as smoke or dust, a cough is a reflex reaction that attempts to clear the particles and make breathing easier. Another common cause of a cough is a respiratory tract infection, such as a cold or flu. Respiratory tract infections are usually caused by a virus and may last from a few days to a week. Infections caused by the flu may take a little longer to clear up and can sometimes require antibiotics
Sore Throat
A sore throat is a painful, dry, or scratchy feeling in the throat. Most sore throats are caused by infections, or by environmental factors like dry air.
